3V - Insecure Volition

Inner Conflict

Find work ethic to be anxiety inducing and may consistently worry about it. Often do not know how to react to power structures, and must intensely consider options. Will feel anxious about large workloads and insecure in how their duties to perform are perceived by others. Tend to feel doubtful about their potential and how motivated or inspired they can feel. May overestimate how much motivation something requires. Tendency to panic or become anxious when their energy level slips lower without warning. Can become worried and unsure of how to overcome obstacles. Will over-analyze and replay things they have accomplished recently, unsure of the next best step to take. Can be highly skeptical of how others assert their opinions on self-help and goal making.

Reactive Phase

May obsess over processing the tenets of their willpower. Believe that they must question any sort of authority that insinuates they should do something a certain way, or change their life direction. Tend to believe they must push themselves to settle inner conflicts about their own capabilities. Worry about how they might overexert themselves in an effort to avoid the doubt cluttering their mind. Become anxious about making promises because they could overestimate their ability to keep the promise.

Dormant Phase

Can completely ignore any questions regarding their character or abilities to avoid insecurity. Will abandon discussion about obligations and responsibilities if it does not feel safe. May shut off their typical strategies to energize themselves. Tend to ignore obstacles as if they do not exist. Can remain unmoved and unshakable to anyone who tries to exert their will, stonewalling the opponent.

Secure Phase

Feel a comfort in successfully learning a detail about their own character. Sense of calm when realizing they can explore their volition safely. Understand their own limitations in willpower and can accept that. Empathize with those who may demand or expect energy from them. Refuse to over-analyze accomplishments and instead perceive them as they are. Tame their automatic reactive nature to those whom they perceive as pressuring or forcing them to do things. Become accepting of outside authority through realizing their own power and authority.

Theoretical Breakdown

The 3V attitude is formed by placing the Volition aspect (V) into the Insecure Position (3rd). Insecure Volition (3V) has an apprehensive and unsure attitude towards all manifestations of willpower. All 3V types believe they are insufficient at being involved in matters relating to volition. They are mostly anxious about their opinions of responsibilities, obligations, goals, willpower, and how to overcome obstacles. These types tend to have a shaky and unstable relationship with how they process all things related to the human drive. They tend to need clarification and feedback from others when engaging in matters of volition.
