American actress and playwright. She won the 1999 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Judge Roberta Kittleson on the ABC drama The Practice (1998–2003) and received another nomination the following year. For her role as Evelyn Harper on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men (2003–2015) she received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
