Lauren Keyana "Keke" Palmer is an American actress, singer, songwriter, and television personality. She appeared in Time's most influential people in the world list in 2019, and has received several accolades, including two BET Awards, a Black Reel Award, six NAACP Image Awards and a Young Artist Award. Palmer was born in Harvey, Illinois, and raised in Robbins, Illinois. After Palmer's film debut in Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004), Palmer and her family moved to California to help her pursue a career in acting. She had her breakthrough starring in the film Akeelah and the Bee (2006) and received further recognition for her roles on Nickelodeon, including the titular character in the sitcom True Jackson, VP (2008–2011). She voiced Aisha in the Nickelodeon revival of Winx Club (2011–2015) and played a lead character in the TV movie Rags (2012). In 2019, Palmer became co-host of daytime talk show Strahan, Sara and Keke alongside Sara Haines and Michael Strahan.
