Marneus Calgar

Originally known as "Tacitan" a chapter serf of the House of Calgar, seeking to escape a life bound by the Noble System of Ultramar, him and a group of his fellow friends sought to achieve an alternative path of life, that of a Space Marine. During his training as an Aspirant(Space Marine Recruit) his instructor secretly conspired with Chaos Rituals, Tacitan and Calgar refused to involve themselves with the group, thus causing a conflict to erupt between the Instructor cultist group and the two. The aftermath was the death of Marneus Calgar. To honor Marneus's name, Tacitan took his name and vowed to become a Space Marine for the honor of his close friend, thus renaming himself "Marneus Calgar". Later saved by a Space Marine Sergeant during the Cultist Incident, he repeated his training among 300 aspirants, Marneus was the only one to survive the brutal training out of the 300 aspirants.
