Marquis de Condorcet (1743-1794) was a French philosopher who was one of the last significant intellectuals of the Enlightenment. Condorcet is most known for his contributions to legal theory, election systems, and voting practices, but he is also considered influential for his belief in the perfectibility of society and his vision of what the future would be like.
