Madhavrao I Peshwa was the 9th Peshwa of the Maratha Empire, he is credited with the Maratha resurrection after the Third Battle of Panipat. Under his leadership, the Marathas quickly became more powerful then the Afghans and Mughals and became a dominant power once again. He is often considered the second greatest Peshwa after his grandfather Bajirao I
