Quentin Crisp was born Denis Charles Pratt on 25 December, 1908. He was an English actor, raconteur, and writer. Though coming from a conventional background, Crisp wore make-up and painted his nails. He spent his youth as a professional model for life-classes in art colleges. Later in life, he gave interviews about his unusual experiences, attracting public curiosity and he was soon sought after for his very personal views on social manners and the cultivating of style.
