The "Boy Miguel case" refers to the death of Miguel Otávio Santana da Silva, five years old, son of the maid Mirtes de Souza. The child fell from the ninth floor of the building where Mirtes worked, in Recife, whose boss was Sarí Côrte Real, wife of Mayor Sérgio Hacker, from Tamandaré, a city just over one hundred kilometers from Recife. That day, when Mirtes went out to take the bosses' dog for a walk, he had to leave Miguel at the apartment. The boy cried because he missed his mother, and went into the building's elevator. Sari sent the elevator to a higher floor with the boy inside. When it reached the ninth floor, Miguel left, accessed an area for the air conditioning system, and fell from a height of 35 meters. She was indicted for abandoning the child of her maid which culminated in the death of the boy. The first instruction and trial hearing must hear Sarí on December 3, 2020. A heinous crime that shocked Brazil in the first quarter of 2020.
